The Natural One has recently been sponsored by VESTAX DJ EQUIPMENT (since May 1998) and has regularly performed interstate around Australia and locally within Melbourne at parties such as Every Picture, Style Wars, T.B.A, Madass, Real Techno (Canberra) and Club Berlin (Adelaide) as well as producing many of his own events under A Universal Movement (AUM). He has also been the presenter of “The Peace Beat…” on KISS 90 FM (Melbourne) since 1996 and has been organising ongoing internet webcasts since 1995 for events such as Every Picture and radio station KISS 90.
As a solo club resident he plays marathon 7 hour sets exploring the (r)evolution of the beat. From tribal African and Haitian voodoo drumming to rare funk, hip-hop, house, techno, drum n bass and majestic film scores and other experimental musical compositions.
The Natural One has also assisted in some of Melbourne’s first TV programmes and documentaries on the rave culture including “Asylum” on CH:31, “BPM” on CH:31, and “ACID BURN” on Optus Vision. Taking his audio/video dreams one step further he is currently working on a collaborative project with animator (bIPED?), of animation team “aRMED rESPONSE”, fusing his music with animations based on themes of (r)evolution, spirituality - the real reality, and the unknown… He is also still involved with the national rave drug awareness campaigns that assist in promoting a healthy lifestyle for the electronic youth culture of today and the future.

Will E Tell: Born 1972, resides in Melbourne. Ran away from home at age 16 and started bussing at Chasers. He really wanted to dj there so when his Mum found him and asked him to come home he told her he would, on one condition- that she buy him two turntables, a mixer, an amp and speakers. And she did! A year later he was djing at Chasers and then Maze and Pure. He is now probably one of Melbourne's best known djs and his name appears on almost every flyer alongside internationals such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Steve Stoll, Damon Wild, Laurent Garnier and heaps more. If he's not behind the decks you can find him behind the counter at Hardware Records. He recently mixed one side of DJ Excursions Vol. 3 along with Brisbane's Kazu Kimura which was launched at the first Paranoid party 98. He's played at too many parties to mention, but he can usually be seen and heard at Xsive on Fridays as well as whatever party happens to be on Saturday.
Nick Dem Q: First gig was Every Picture 9 then played support to Mrs. Woods at Bringers of the Dawn. Got into djing after playing around on some guy's turntable that he didn't even know. He had no idea what he was doing and made sure he did before he tried to get some gigs. He doesn't define his musical style but lists influences like Dave Clark, Ian Pooley and Thomas Chrome. He also designs the amazing Every Picture and Earthcore flyers. Played at Every Picture 9 to 15.
Richie Rich: Born 1972, resides in Melbourne. Runs Hardware Records with Willie Tell, Simon Digby and Adrian Van Raay. At age 18 worked as a bus boy at Chasers to save money and buy records. Played at most of Melbourne's biggest parties. Djs on Kiss90. Mixed Hardware 3 CD.
FSOM: Future Sound of Melbourne is a talented trio who won the ARIA award for best dance release in 1996 for their debut mini album "Chapter 1". Comprising David Carbone, Steve Robbins and Josh Abrahams. Their record company is called "Volition". They've played at many parties including the last Big Day Out.
Sonic Animation: Comprising Rupert Heiller (born 1971), Adrian Cartwright (1965) and Steve Bertschik (1975). From Melbourne, this is their third year together. First album was called "Silence is Deafening". Played Kryal Castle 97/98.
Fractal Glider: Paul McCosh started writing experimental acid trance in 1995 under the name Q-d-K (Quarter of Ketamine). Worked as an audio engineer. Influenced by Astral Projection, Kox Box, Hallucinogen and Psyharmonics. First club gig was Escape in August 1997 and first party Psynapse in November 1997. Also played Rainbow Serpent Festival and Full Moon parties. Released four CDs and two tracks on Primitive Dawn (Green Ant) called "The Shepherd" and "Stingray". Currently working with Green Ant.
The Natural One: Since 1994, The Natural One has taken electronic audio/visual mediums and fused them into live mixed-media concepts using experimental artforms. His motto: “there are no boundaries…”
HMC: HMC aka Cam or House Master C became involved with the Adelaide scene about 12 years ago. He put Adelaide on the map then stormed the rest of the world with rave reviews for his album Phreakin' and international appearances alongside the likes of Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Cajmere and Masters at Work. He is currently playing with The Clinic run by Kylie Mansfield. He is also launching his own twin labels releasing techno through Data Music and house through Rhythm Tracks. He has a new EP out called Liquid Funk. Played Hardware 10, Redheads, Every Picture 17.
Patrick Lindsey: Patrick Lindsey is considered to be the master of techno-phunk. He was born in 1973 in Franfurt, Germany and is now based between Dusseldorf and Cologne. He began making music as a teenager composing hard beats for computer games. He also played as a drummer in a band. His first record called Another Day was released on the Kanzleramt label in 1994 and was followed soon after by Torment on Sven Vath's label Harthouse. He has also recorded under the names No Soul, Mel O'Ween and Kirtap Yesnil. He has had hits with such tracks as Male Phonk, Phonkschool and The King. He is now concentrating on hip-hop, R & B and soul with his label Skool with fellow producer Coby Johnson. Played Kryal Castle New Years Eve 97/98.
Aphrodite: Gavin King has been producing drum & bass and jungle since 1991. He is the highest selling producer in these genres with hits like Rock The Funky Beats, We Enter, Hype The Funk, Summer Breeze and many more. He has also recorded under the names Amazon 2, Urban Shakedown, A-zone and Aladdin. He has done remixes for artists such as The Jungle Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Apollo 4-40, Moby, A Tribe Called Quest, Jef Jam, East-17 and Ice Cube. Played Style Wars 1998.
Derrick Carter: Born 1970. Considered a pioneer of the Chicago house sound. Worked on labels such as Force Inc, Harthouse, Jus' Trax, Doghouse, EyeQ and Slip 'n' Slide. His three deck abilities are shown in the Future Sound of Chicago compilation. He has done remixes for artists such as Chez Damier, Dj Tonka and Byron Stingley. Played Transatlantic 1997 and Transatlantic 3 1998.
Sven Vath: Born 26th of October 1964 in Offenbach, Germany. Did an apprenticeship as a building fitter, but at the age of 18 was given the chance to dj at Dorian Gray, a big well-known club in Germany. In the 80s he became the frontman of a group called Off. In 1988 he opened a club called Omen which became one of Frankfurt's most famous clubs. In 1991 he founded the label Eye-Q with Heinz Roth and Matthias Hoffman, but left the label in early 97 just before it went bankrupt. Since 1992 he has been collaborating with Ralf Hildenbeutel on the projects Essence of Nature, Barbarellu as well as Sven's solo releases. In January 98 he released the album Fusion on Virgin Records. Will be playing Hardware 14 1998.
Armand Van Helden: Began his dj career playing hip hop at age 15. Discovered house music around 1988 and had success with early tunes "NY Express" and "Witch Dokter". He has remixed for artists such as Daft Punk, Blondie, Ace of Base, Real McCoy, M-People and New Order. His remix of Tori Amos' "Professional Widow" tore up the charts around the world. He then achieved more success with remixes of Sneaker Pimp's "Spin Spin Sugar" and CJ Bolland's "Sugar is Sweeter". Played at Advent 1998.
The Advent: London based duo comprising Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean. Cisco worked as a sound engineer at Middle Street Studios in London giving him exposure to US artists such as Derrick May before the dance music explosion in the late 80s. He hooked up with CJ Bolland in the early 90s and co-produced Nightbreed, The 4th Sign and Camargue as well as releasing his own tracks under the name Space Opera. Colin completed a degree in fashion design and started djing music of all different styles. They met in 1990 and then in 1994 signed with Internal Recordings and formed The Advent. In 98 they moved from London Records to BMG and started their own label Kombination Research. Albums include Shaded Elements, Elements of Life and New Beginnings. Remixed for artists such as Adam Beyer, Darren Price, Commander Tom, New Order, Joey Beltram and Empirion. Played Advent 97 and 98.
Dj Sneak: Considered to be at the forefront of the renaissance of Chicago house. Born 1969 and moved to Chicago at age 13. He couldn't speak any English, but loved to listen to Chicago house djs on the radio because there weren't any vocals. In Europe he is best known for his disco style, but he has more recently become known for remixing old house classics with his own Chicago style. Played Cream 1997 and Apollo Festival 1998.
